Shown throughout a wedding ceremony commemorating the 30th anniversary of their partnership with First Automotive Functions (FAW), the image reveals the Q2 L e-Tron will look practically identical to the Q2 L. This is a bit of a surprise as earlier spy photos have shown the electric Q2 may have modified front fascia and an altered grille that is comparable to the one used on the 2019 e-Tron.
There’s no term on why there are these glaring discrepancies, but it is possible the image displayed the event was just a bad mockup of the model with “Q2 L e-Tron” electronically grafted on to its license plate. That’s just speculation at this point and it’s also likely that the Q2 L e-Tron will have a little more conventional design to suit Chinese preferences.
Audi alluded to this possibility by saying the Q2 L e-Tron will become the “first electric car tailored for Chinese customers.” However, it continues to be unclear if Audi is preparing to offer a conventional Q2 e-train together with the Q2 L e-Tron. Irrespective, Audi confirmed the Q2 L e-Tron is part of its effort to launch more China-particular model versions and digital services. The electric crossover is going to be launched in China in 2019 and it will likely be sold together with the standard e-Tron.
Audi didn’t release didn’t release performance specifications for the Q2 L e-Tron, but rumors have advised the model might have a range of up to 310 miles (500 km) on a single charge.
